Installation of Congregational Officers
On Sunday, January 11th, the officers for the
church and church organizations of 2009, will be
installed at both of the worship services.

In Service to the Lord and His Church
A prayer of thanksgiving is offered up for the
dedicated service of our officers, President Karl
Engeling, and Secretary Josyclin Patrick; as well
as for those completing their three year terms on
church council: Russell Arbuckle, Kathy Norton,
and Beth Walterscheidt.

2009 Offering Envelopes
The 2009 offering envelopes have been placed in
the narthex of the church so that members may
pick them up and save us postage.  Remember to
pick up you envelopes at the next worship
service.  They will be mailed after the first Sunday
in January.

Men in Mission Meeting Change!
Reminder that the January meeting has been
moved from the first of January to Thursday,
January eighth.

A Christmas Thank You!
Thanks to all who helped with the “Live Nativity”,
decorating the church for Christmas, those who
provided the many poinsettias, and the
Waltersheidt’s Evergreen Christmas Tree Farm for
the two beautiful Christmas trees.  Please note that
the Live Nativity and Christmas Trees will be taken
down Sunday, January 4th, following the second
service.

January Congregational Meeting
Our congregational meeting will be held on the
third Sunday of January, the 18th.  The only
service for that Sunday will be the 10:30 a.m.
worship.   Following the worship we will have a
covered dish meal.  Plan to be present as we share
the vision of ministry for the year 2009!

CROP Walk
The annual crop walk will be held Saturday,
February 21st, at 10:00 a.m.  Each year members
are invited to participate in the collection of money
for walking.  We walk because many people in the
world have to walk some distance to a clean
source of water each day.  One third of all money
collected also helps the ministries that provide
food here in Elgin.  The packets for those planning
to walk should be available toward the end of this
month; see pastor.

Wise People Bring Gifts!
Sunday January 18th is not only the Sunday of our
congregational meeting it is also the Sunday that
we will collect gifts for the Elgin Community
Cupboard.   Bring canned goods or money to help
restock the shelves of our community cupboard
following the holiday seasons.
