The Congregation of St. Peter's is very active. You will find that we have many opportunities to worship, study and serve. We have various groups that offer fellowship and opportunities to serve others at the local, national and worldwide levels. Our members and groups are very active in community outreaches such as the Community Food Bank, Meals on Wheels program, Relay for Life, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Friends of the Elgin Library, Operation Christmas Child, Elgin Caregivers, Elgin Soup Kitchen, Crop Walk and many others. We are arguably one of the most active congregations in our local community.

We are collecting toys for operation christmas child, clothes, and school supplies for boys and girls 0-12 years of age.

Aluminum foil is collected for recycling. Proceeds are used to send Bibles to other countries.

Non-Perishable food items are collected in the North-ex for the community cupboard.
Used Eyeglasses are collected in the parish hall and given donated to an organization that distributes them to those in need.

Pull tabs are collected in the parish hall to benefit the Ronald McDonald

Aluminum cans are collected outside the youth house. They are recycled to benefit social concerns.

Corks are recycled for cacer research.
